Carthage, a Punic City.

You are on the Byrsa Hill, the acropolis of Carthage,
a city famous in African history.
Take a look at the landscape surrounding the hill:
the promontory, the plain, the gulf, the lake and,
in the distance, the first hills of the continent;
this was the doman of Carthage on land and sea.
Stroll through the Punic and Roman remains that beara witness
to these civilizations and their demise.
Little remains of the Punic citadel so fierce in resisting
the Roman invasion, or of the grandiose Roman forum built on the same site,
now demolished to its foundations.
Remember the princess Elissa-Dido who, coming from the East disembarked
on the shore and settled on this hill. It was 814 B.C., twenty-eight centuries ago.
